Heat load calculations

Cooling and heating loads for each zone, floor and the building as a whole, modelled in Carrier HAP v6 (Hourly Analysis Program). Loads are calculated with the ASHRAE Heat Balance Method, and inputs, assumptions and design conditions are stated in full.

Where a project or consultant calls for different software, we can work with it.

You receive: zone and block loads, peak and design-day results, and a load summary ready for submission.

Plant and equipment selection

Chillers, boilers, air handling units, fan coil units, pumps and fans, selected against the calculated loads and the project specification.

You receive: selection schedules with duties, the supporting calculations, and checks against the specified performance.

HVAC schematics

Clear, consistent schematics for chilled water, heating hot water, condenser water and ventilation systems, ready for submission and for use on site.

Ventilation and air calculations

Outdoor air, exhaust and pressurisation calculations to AS 1668.2, plus psychrometric and humidity analysis where comfort or process conditions need to be shown.

NCC compliance calculations

Section J energy efficiency calculations for HVAC systems, prepared to suit the compliance pathway the project has chosen, with the method and results set out for the building surveyor or certifier.

Technical submissions and equipment review

Supplier equipment data checked against the specification and the calculated duties, and technical submissions prepared with the calculations to back them.

Where an alternative to the specified equipment is proposed, the comparison is laid out clearly.

Working together

How it works

  1. Send what you haveThe brief, specification, drawings and programme.
  2. Agree the scopeConfirm the deliverables, the basis of the work and the timeframe.
  3. DeliveryCalculations, schedules and documents, with every assumption stated.
  4. Follow-throughResponses to reviewer comments until the submission is closed out.
